Joining
Do I need to be a dad to join?
You need to be raising a child, expecting one, or standing in for a father who isn't there.
Is it only for men?
The room is for fathers. Events are open to partners, and we run family days through the year.
Is this a religious organisation?
No. Members come from everywhere and nowhere. The only shared belief is that fathering is a craft worth working at.
Do I have to live in Sudbury?
No. Sessions happen on our Discord server, so you can be anywhere. The events — dinners, family days, the founding dinner — are held in person here in Sudbury.
I've got a newborn. Or a teenager. Is this for me?
Both. The problems look different and the job is the same. Men at every stage sit in the same room, which is the point.
Money
What does it cost?
$12 a month, or $120 a year as a founding member. Prices include applicable taxes. No setup fee, no contract.
What if I can't afford it?
You can always downgrade to the free tier, for as long as you wish. It won't affect your seat — the perks change, that's all.
Where does the money go?
Rooms, coffee, the tool library, and the bench fund. Nobody here is getting rich on twelve dollars a month.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from the customer portal linked in your receipt. No phone call, no retention offer. Your access runs to the end of the period you've already paid for.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Month to month, or year to year. Cancel and it simply stops renewing.
The club
What actually happens at a session?
Ninety minutes. A short talk or somebody teaching a skill, then an hour of honest conversation. No open bar, no speeches about your potential.
How often do you meet?
Twice a month, both on Saturdays — The Room on the second Saturday, Teach One Thing on the fourth. The full calendar is on the Events page.
Do I have to come to everything?
No. Come to what you can. A man with a newborn and a man with a teenager do not have the same weeks.
Can I bring my kid?
To family days, yes. Members' sessions are adults-only, so men can say the thing they came to say.
Is this therapy?
No. It's a room of men who've been through some of the same things. If what you need is a professional, we'll say so plainly and help you find one.
Membership
What's a founding member?
The first four hundred. $120 a year, that price locked for as long as you stay, the founding patch, and the annual dinner on the club.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe, on this site. You get a receipt by email and a portal link to change your card or cancel.
Will you sell my email?
No. We don't sell your details or share them for advertising. The Privacy page spells out exactly what we hold.
What if I break the code of conduct?
It depends what happened. Most things get a conversation. Harassment, violence, breaking confidentiality, or photographing a child without permission end the membership immediately.
